How does the Cancer Alliance Queensland ensure that patients’ identities are safe?

The Cancer Alliance Queensland aims to facilitate access to cancer data without compromising confidentiality. The intent of confidentiality legislation is that information that could lead to the identification of an individual cannot be released to anyone unless an appropriate exemption in the relevant legislation applies.

Any data released must ensure the confidentiality and privacy of the data that is provided is maintained.

All data is stored securely on Queensland Department of Health servers and is accessible only to authorised users.
