Cancer Alliance Queensland is proud to announce the successful delivery of a key commitment made by Queensland at the 2023 Metastatic Breast Cancer National Round Table in Canberra. This milestone reflects the dedication and expertise of our team in advancing data-driven cancer care.
Hosted by the Breast Cancer Network of Australia, the round table brought together a passionate and inspiring group of individuals united by a shared goal: to ensure people living with metastatic breast cancer are counted and recognised in national data.
Cancer Alliance Queensland, our vision is to drive excellence and equity in cancer care by accessing, analysing, and actioning data. Queensland is uniquely positioned to lead this work, thanks to over two decades of comprehensive data collection across both public and private healthcare sectors. This has enabled the creation of a personalised cancer record for each individual, forming a powerful resource for targeted analysis.
Using this data infrastructure, we were able to identify and extract key information on those living with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Looking ahead, we are committed to integrating this data into our routine breast cancer reporting. This will ensure it is readily available to inform policy development and support the planning and delivery of cancer care services across the state.
